Melania Doc to Premiere at Renamed Trump-Kennedy Center

The upcoming documentary chronicling First Lady Melania Trump's potential return to the White House, titled "Melania," is slated for its premiere at a newly designated venue. Sources indicate this event will take place at what is now known as The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Representatives from Amazon have opted not to comment, and a specific date for the red-carpet debut remains unannounced.

The trailer for this Amazon MGM Studios production, which involved direct participation from Melania Trump herself, offers a glimpse into her journey during the twenty days preceding the 2025 Presidential Inauguration. The preview begins with footage of the First Lady inside the U.S. Capitol rotunda on the day of her husband's second inauguration as President, where she turns to the camera and remarks, "Here we go again."

This project, revealed in January, just two weeks prior to President Trump's anticipated White House reentry, has naturally garnered significant attention and scrutiny. This interest stems not only from its subject matter but also from the involvement of director Brett Ratner, whose Hollywood career has been on hold since allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced in 2017. Amazon intends to release the film theatrically across the United States and in select international markets on January 30, 2026, with a Prime Video streaming date to be confirmed later. A subsequent three-part docuseries will also accompany the film.

Regarding the Kennedy Center's name change, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt recently shared on social media that the institution's board of trustees, appointed by the President, unanimously approved the alteration to The Trump-Kennedy Center. On Friday, visual evidence of this rebranding emerged as workers were observed affixing Trump's name to the building, and the center's official website has already been updated to reflect the new designation.

However, members of the Kennedy family and congressional representatives have voiced objections, emphasizing that the center was established by federal legislation as a "living memorial" to President John F. Kennedy and therefore its name cannot be altered without an act of Congress.

This renaming incident is the latest in a series of notable events surrounding the arts institution. Recent reports have highlighted instances of artists experiencing significant delays in receiving payment for performances. Earlier in December, the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony, hosted by Donald Trump, recognized recipients such as Sylvester Stallone, the band Kiss, Gloria Gaynor, Michael Crawford, and George Strait.
